Advantages of Investment Casting?

Sector Advantages Driving Adoption: The Go-To Solution for Precision Metal Parts

_

Precision and Accuracy
Produces parts with tight dimensional tolerances (CT6–CT8) and excellent surface finishes (Ra 6.4–12.5 µm). Ideal for complex geometries and thin-walled components.
Superior Surface Quality
Delivers smooth as-cast surfaces, reducing or eliminating the need for post-processing such as grinding or polishing.
Design Freedom
Enables intricate designs, sharp edges, 90° angles, and complex internal features without the limitations of draft angles.
Material Versatility
Compatible with a wide range of metals, including carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous alloys — offering excellent flexibility for engineering applications.
Complex Part Integration
Allows casting of multi-functional components with integrated features, reducing the need for assembly and improving structural integrity.
Cost Efficiency
Minimises waste through near-net-shape production. Reduces machining, assembly, and material costs — particularly effective for small to medium batch sizes.
Flexible Production
Suited to low to medium volume production runs (from 100 units), with relatively low tooling investment compared to other precision casting methods.

Processing of Lost Wax Casting?

Provides hot chamber die casing for industries

Creating a precise wax pattern and coating it with ceramic to form a mould is the process of lost wax casting, also known as investment casting. The wax is subsequently melted away, leaving a hollow shell into which molten metal is poured. After cooling, the ceramic mould is broken to reveal a detailed metal casting, which is then cleaned and finished. This process is ideal for producing complex, high-precision metal parts with excellent surface quality.

Types of Investment Casting

Traditional Lost Wax Casting
The classic process in which wax patterns are made, coated with ceramic, and subsequently melted out to create a mould for metal pouring.

Lost Foam Casting
Utilises a foam pattern instead of wax, which evaporates during the metal pouring, making it suitable for complex shapes.

Shell Moulding
Involves the creation of a thin ceramic shell around the pattern, ideal for small, detailed components.
